Interview with Gabriele J. Palermo from tragedian  “I told the guys, look, this could be our pyromania, but the next one has to be our Hysteria" With almost the entire band now entrenched in Germany ,tragedian is setting its sights on world domination. The release of their third album is upon us. The production and over all feel of this album is unparalleled. It is a nonstop power metal masterpiece.  I talked with Palermo about his plans, the album, and life in one of Germany's upcoming metal acts. What was your mind set going into this recording? “I told the guys, look this could be our pyromania, but the next one has to be our Hysteria. Except we can’t take five years for the next one. Originally it was supposed to be a concept album but we came up with only three songs for a subject. Not enough for a full concept. I said to Alex, let’s make a horror movie translated into music. Which is what we did.  Each song is a story.” The song wi...

Primal Fear Live album review

Image
PRIMAL FEAR is one of those metal bands that never fails to deliver.             So I was a little wary of the live album format. Often bands will forge ahead and release a few key performances. Most times the sessions fall flat of the studio releases. Some bands just cannot capture that energy in a bottle from a live show.  PRIMAL FEAR is not one of those bands. They are consistent and in some cases even better on the live stage than the recordings.       Hands down this is one powerful live band. The energy, the emotion, the crowd participation, it is all here in the latest release from PRIMAL FEAR. You will feel like you have a front row seat to all the metal mayhem and atmosphere of a perfect metal performance. The production value is unmatched.  This is one live album that lives up to all its expectations.Pickup, “ANGELS OF MERCY – LIVE IN GERMANY” out now. 9/10 wolf h...

TRAGEDIAN Album Review

Image
Submitted for your metal approval. TRAGEDIAN, UNHOLY DIVINE   The Devil Calls You ….Kicking off the third installment of TRAGEDIAN'S brand of German power metal is a song worthy of the Gods. Full shred speed ahead on this one. Vocals are on point as the band tears through this epic power metal masterpiece. This is the band to watch from Germany in 2018 and beyond. Tracks like Dullahan and Revelation continue with the blitzkrieg assault of inescapable sonic perfection. Revelation has a distinctive Dragonforce feel. Over the Edge features a cameo solo by none other than master HELLOWEEN guitarist, KAI HANSEN (Gamma Ray). The song sounds like it belongs on a classic HELLOWEEN album. No joke it is that good.  One of the stand out tracks on the album. Flyaway and Shadow of the Moon are also memorable songs. The lead on Shadow of the Moon is by far one of Gabriel's best. Pure prolific power meets perfection. Spectres and Chasing a Dream ...

Babylon A.D. Interview

Image
Babylon A.D.  is about to release a new album on Frontiers records.REVOLUTION HIGHWAY will be released on November 10th on Frontiers Records. The Band, still with original members, will be celebrating 30 years. The songs on this album are undeniable and certifiable hard rock gems. The band has never sounded better or tighter. This is pure American rock and roll. Hands down one of the best albums for 2017. Check out their new album.  10/10 wolf howls Below is an earlier interview I did with guitarist Ron Freschi. Interview Ron Freschi Babylon A.d./ Syrym "We are discussing  recording a new album" Back in the day when MTV actually played music videos, Babylon A.D. was one of the best hard rock bands to tear across the television screen. The songs were filled with sex and life and just a pure rock and roll sense that few bands actually capture. Their  melodic brand of style was soon eclipsed by grunge and the fickle whims of the recordin...

L.A.GUNS THE MISSING PEACE album review

Image
L.A.GUNS is an American Iconic hard rock band That always delivers. This latest release does not disappoint. If you thought they could not return to that first album sound then you are sadly mistaken. These songs sound a lot like they belong on that first album. This is one hell of a kick ass testament to the staying power of American rock and roll. This album, this band, this is what we need in these troubling times. This is the sound track for a new party. A new America. Hard rock is dangerous and fun at the same time and L.A. GUNS delivers. Get this album!!!!! 10/10 wolf howls CRY OF THE WOLF magazine As the revival of the classic ‘80s hard rock and heavy metal scene continues unabated here in the 21st century, one reunion has been at the top of the wish list of many a fan for a long time: the songwriting combination of Tracii Guns and Philip Lewis under the L.A. Guns banner. What once seemed like a distant memory with no hope of returning has now...
