CRY OF THE WOLF REVIEW OF MARITA "ROUGH STUFF"

CRY OF THE WOLF REVIEW OF MARITA "ROUGH STUFF"

This is pure rock and roll that harkens back to the glory days of the 80's. Those golden days of spandex nights and hair sprayed nights. When the innocence of our very world seemed to never end and paradise was just a flock of seagulls away. This album is full of those rocking riffs and sing able lyrics we all grew up. Those perfect albums that you could dance to and rock out to.

Marita has this charisma and charm that speak of good times, rock and roll, and rough stuff. The production is perfectly in sync with her vocal style and features some killer guitar shredding. This is get up and dance or thrash your room music. Danceable yet dangerous on so many levels.  "Bikini Cleopatra" and "Cuff Me" are two stand out tracks.

Just great rock and roll. But just when you think your sinking in to a predictable pattern, along comes a song like "Let Me Go" which features a dark and foreboding lyrical twisting. Pop rockers like "I don't give A Fuck", and "Hot Rocking" conjure both Lita Ford and Judas Priest at the same time.

This is the beauty of this disc. You can never know where the tunes are coming from. Very well done.
