Judas Priestess Interview

Image
Judas Priestess welcomed me with open arms into their backstage lounge between sets at the vault In New Bedford, Mass. It was a home state show for their Drummer and the band was full of energy. I found these Heavy metal fanatics to be true fans of   Judas Priest's music and understood what it means to the heavy metal world. Front woman, Militia proved she was truly down to earth, friendly, yet passionate about her role, and the bands role in offering a tribute to the original Metal Gods. How long has this band been together?  We emerged in 2009. 9 years. never imagined people would care this long. If no one was coming then we would hang it up but people keep coming. Would you ever tour overseas? We have done Canada we would like to get overseas. Every time they talk the green it gets taken off the table. It's not cheap plus Judas priest keeps going over there  to play a lot of biker rallies in the south. I feel like there's an audience over there just waiti

PSYCLE Interview Providence, Rhode Island Rock And Roll Band

PSYCLE Interview        Providence, Rhode Island based rock band, PSYCLE  is one of the areas best original groups. Their sound, a mixture of hard rock and country tinged rock is a breath of fresh local air. With two EPs under their belts, this seasoned band is ready to take their music to the next level. Check out PSYCLE on facebook and their web site. They will not be local for long!!! First and fore most who came up with the name: PSYCLE ?   Psycle came about right before our first show back in 2000. We were asked by a promoter what our band name was and we hadn’t even discussed it. The idea of things coming full circle and getting what you give is something that has always fascinated me. Karma is on my mind often and I have always believed that if you put good things into the universe it will find its way back to you. Unfortunately, the universe doesn’t believe in time management hahahahha You have an almost country rock flavor to your sound. How would y

JUDAS PRIESTESS/MELIA SHOW REVIEW 8/10/2018

The Greasy Luck Brewpub and its adjoining rock venue,"the Vault" have hosted a number of notable rock and heavy rock acts lately. The venue is large enough to handle these acts yet intimate enough to offer ample viewing of the stage from anyplace in the room. My experiences there have been nothing but positive from the menu to the bartenders this place is a top notch premier venue.      On Friday, August 10th, the all female Judas Priest tribute band, JUDAS PRIESTESS entered the vault and tore the roof off. The opening act, MELIA, features a  flashy guitarist/singer, with a quick hand and a raspy, soulful voice.  The elements of pop and alternative rock were there, as well as some punk and hard rock influences. it all blended together with a tight band behind her.  MELIA rips on her guitar but at times pulls back and allows her band to shine. In particular was the incredibly tight backing musicians, Angelo Marasco on bass, Jimmy Whitaker on rhythm guitar

INTERVIEW WITH DEVIL IN THE MIST VOCALIST: KATY REIGN

Image
Katy Reign is a local New England vocalist/model with an incredibly gifted voice. Her latest project, DEVIL IN THE MIST, is a tour de force of powerful songs. Recently she answered a few questions...   Who are your main influences vocally? Gotta go with Lita Ford, Shirley Manson, Christopher Hall and Phil Anselmo.   Which do you like better...Modeling or performing? I miss modeling at times, but performing is where my heart is, at some point I may get back into modeling.    Any regimen you do to keep your vocals in shape? I bite more than I can chew most times, so I'm always performing, be it live or in the studio.  Do you feel that social media is a positive force or negative in the music business? I believe social media definitely made a tremendous impact for us musicians, the only downfall is that now every company is asking for money, so it's not what it used to be. But then again, you can say the same thing about paying

Granny4Barrel Interview

"I'm your surrogate Metal Granny"      At This point nothing in the entertainment world will shock you. Exposed to a myriad of genres and persona's, we have all become numb to the extremes of the business. Along comes GRANNY4BARREL, with her metal horror granny image backed up by a superior band that includes an electro violinist who shreds like Eddie van halen! We asked her about the use of a fiddle rather than the traditional lead guitarist. " With the fiddle we get so much more and it looks cool" states Granny. "Last time I checked this is the entertainment industry so we decided to do something that would shake things up.I was always into horror, so why not have a crazy bad ass old woman front a metal band?"    Tearing through their live set it was clear that GRANNY4BARREL can walk the talk. This is pure molten steel. The kind of shock metal that will melt your wigs off. Signed to Jess Dupre's Mighty Loud label, GRANNY4BARREL a
